Amey received his B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, India, in 2017. After working at Tata Motors for one year after his undergraduate studies, he joined the Biosensing and Biorobotics Laboratory where he completed his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering and is working on his Ph.D. by developing a robotic platform for automated microinjection of drosophila embryos, which he hopes to eventually apply to other microorganisms such as zebrafish and C. elegans.
