Dr. Hossain obtained his Ph.D. in EE from the University of North Texas in 2020 and M.S. in EE from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in 2015. During Ph.D., he gained extensive experience in 2D material-based devices fabrication and characterization. His research contributions have been demonstrated in several high-impact journals including Nature- npj 2D Materials and Applications, 2D Materials, and Biomedical Microdevices. He is also the recipient of several prestigious fellowships and scholarships.
His current research as a postdoc at UMN involves developing a transparent polymer skull with embedded miniaturized optics to map the dynamic activity of the whole cortex at cellular resolution during free and naturalistic behaviors. Additionally, he is also working on developing a conformable, stencil fabricated, 2D material-based μ-ECoG array for multi-regional brain signal mapping and recording.
